  6.    Harvard Graphics 3.01 includes several new printer and film
  7.    recorder drivers, and some changes to current drivers.  To use
  8.    any of the new device drivers, follow the instructions in
  9.    "Adding new device drivers" in Chapter 3 of the Harvard Graphics
  10.    3.0 Setup Manual.
  11.  
  12.    Other files may also be included on this diskette, such as
  13.    HGCOPY.EXE.  These contain updated versions of Harvard Graphics
  14.    program files or utilities.  To use any of these other files, copy
  15.    the new file to the appropriate directory on your hard disk or
  16.    network drive using the DOS COPY command.

  38.    This version of Harvard Graphics also includes minor changes to
  39.    several printer drivers and one film recorder driver.  These
  40.    driver files have been reorganized to offer additional font
  41.    support, according to the following table:

  56.    Before you install the new Agfa Matrix Chromascript driver
  57.    (PS74.FM3), you must first delete the old driver (PS13.FM3).
  58.    This is the only driver file you need to delete to use the new
  59.    drivers provided in Harvard Graphics 3.01.

  61. USING THE NEW SCODL DRIVERS
  62.  
  63.    The SCODL film recorder drivers included in this version of
  64.    Harvard Graphics support either the default font set, or the
  65.    extended Bitstream Typefaces available from Agfa Matrix.  See the
  66.    following sections for details about your film recorder and its
  67.    fonts.  For information about creating and processing SCODL files
  68.    and using SCODL fonts, see Appendix C of the Harvard Graphics 3.0
  69.    User's Manual.

  73.    Select Agfa Matrix SCODL (default fonts) at Film Recorder Setup

  109. IMAPRO SCODL FILM RECORDER: EXTENDED FONTS
  110.  
  111.    If you've purchased the additional Bitstream font set for the
  112.    Imapro film recorder, select Imapro SCODL at Film Recorder
  113.    Setup.
  114.  
  115.    To use the extended font set with the Imapro film recorder,
  116.    follow the steps in "Creating and processing SCODL files" in
  117.    Appendix C of the Harvard Graphics 3.0 User's Manual.  However,
  118.    make sure that you download the extended Agfa Matrix fonts
  119.    first, before you download the default Imapro fonts (font
  120.    numbers 1,2,3,4,5,7,17, and 19).

  122.    The Agfa Matrix extended font set contains Agfa Matrix versions
  123.    of these fonts, which are different from the Imapro default
  124.    fonts.  To output with the correct Imapro fonts, make sure the
  125.    default Imapro fonts are the last fonts downloaded.  If you load
  126.    one font at a time, download the Imapro versions of fonts
  127.    1,2,3,4,5,7,17, and 19.  (The Agfa Matrix and Imapro versions
  128.    are the same for all other fonts in the extended font set.)

  130. SCODL hardware fonts in existing charts
  131.  
  132.    The SCODL extended fonts drivers use updated spacing and can print
  133.    more extended characters than the previous driver.  This means that
  134.    if you've already created charts in Harvard Graphics 3.0 that use
  135.    SCODL hardware fonts 1-4 (the default fonts), then you need to
  136.    update each chart's text and re-save it in order to take advantage
  137.    of the new driver's features for output.  If you output existing
  138.    charts with the new driver without updating the text and re-saving
  139.    the charts, spacing in the SCODL hardware fonts may be
  140.    unpredictable.

  142.    This applies only to charts using SCODL hardware fonts.  If
  143.    you've used only software fonts in existing charts, you don't
  144.    need to update them to use the Imapro SCODL driver.

  146.    To update chart data in existing charts:

  149.    1.  Start Harvard Graphics 3.0.
  150.  
  151.    2.  Get the chart you need to update.
  152.  
  153.    3.  At the Main Menu, select Edit chart.
  154.  
  155.    4.  Type over any character in the chart.
  156.  
  157.        For example, if the chart title is "Sales," then type "S"
  158.        over the "s" in Sales.
  159.  
  160.    5.  Press F2.
  161.  
  162.    6.  Press Ctrl-S to re-save the chart.

  165.    Repeat the steps for every chart you want to update.  If you've
  166.    created text in Draw, you must also update the Draw text.

  168.    To update text in Draw in existing charts:

  171.    1.  Start Harvard Graphics 3.0.

  173.    2.  At the Main Menu, select Draw.
  174.  
  175.    3.  Select the text you want to update.
  176.  
  177.        If you've created several text strings, you can select
  178.        them all at once.

  180.    4.  Change any option on the text.
  181.  
  182.        For example, change the text size from 4 to 5.  If
  183.        you've selected several text strings, make sure you
  184.        change an option that can apply to all the text strings.

  186.    5.  Press Ctrl-S to re-save the chart.
